Notes
The G26 Gen5 was part of the 2017 Gen5 launch alongside the G17 Gen5 and G19 Gen5. Weight without magazine is 559g (19.72 oz). The Gen5 nDLC finish is significantly more durable than the Gen4 Tenifer coating. The Glock Marksman Barrel is the most notable accuracy improvement, featuring a more traditional rifling profile with a target crown. The flared magazine well is subtle on the subcompact frame but still aids in faster reloads. Optional 12-round magazines with grip extensions are available for Gen5 models. The Gen5 is the current production model alongside the newer V-series.
Background
The Gen5 G26 addressed virtually every criticism leveled at the Baby Glock over its two-decade history. The removal of finger grooves -- Glock's most controversial design element -- was celebrated by shooters with hands that didn't perfectly match the molded grip contours. The Marksman Barrel delivered measurably tighter groups, and the ambidextrous slide stop finally made the platform fully left-hand friendly. For many concealed carriers, the Gen5 G26 represented the definitive version of a pistol that had already set the standard.
