Notes
The G30 Gen5 was released in 2023 alongside the G29 Gen5 as part of Glock's large-bore Gen5 expansion. Weight without magazine is 675g (23.81 oz). The G30 Gen5 shares its frame dimensions with the G29 Gen5 (10mm), differing primarily in barrel, breech face, and magazine. The 1:15.75-inch (400mm) rifling twist rate is optimized for the .45 ACP's heavy bullets. The Gen5 Marksman Barrel delivers notably tighter groups than previous generations. The double-stack grip remains notably wide at 1.38 inches (35mm), which was a key driver for the creation of the single-stack Glock 36 and the hybrid G30S with a slimmer G36 slide. Compatible with Glock 21 13-round magazines with grip extension.
Background
The G30 Gen5 arrived as .45 ACP was experiencing something of a cultural renaissance among American shooters, even as the broader market continued its shift toward 9mm. For devotees of the big-bore cartridge, the Gen5's improved accuracy and lighter trigger pull breathed new life into a platform that had already proven itself over nearly three decades. The G30 Gen5's 10+1 capacity of .45 ACP in a subcompact package remains unmatched by any double-stack competitor, a testament to Glock's original engineering achievement.
