Notes
The G34 Gen5 is available exclusively in MOS configuration, reflecting the near-universal adoption of red dot optics in competition shooting. The Modular Optic System uses interchangeable adapter plates compatible with popular micro red dot sights including Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, C-More, and others. The lighter trigger pull (24N vs 28N on standard models) is achieved through a different connector, not a modified trigger mechanism. The G34 dominates USPSA Production and Carry Optics divisions. Its extended slide is 18mm longer than the standard G17, placing it just under USPSA's 8.75-inch overall length limit for Production class.
Background
The Glock 34 proved that a polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol could compete head-to-head with tuned 1911s and CZ-75s that had dominated action shooting sports for decades. When USPSA introduced the Production division in 2003, the G34 became the division's de facto standard pistol. More USPSA Production division titles have been won with the G34 platform than any other pistol. Its combination of Glock reliability with competition-focused refinements created a pistol that works straight from the box at a price point far below custom race guns.
