Notes
The G48 MOS uses the same Shield RMSc-pattern optic cut as the G43X MOS, designed for micro-compact red dots. The nDLC black finish replaced the original silver nPVD on MOS variants. The slim mounting rail is compatible with compact weapon-mounted lights designed for the Slimline platform. Like the G43X MOS, the G48 MOS has become extremely popular paired with Shield Arms S15 magazines and a Holosun 407K/507K red dot. The longer barrel compared to the G43X provides better accuracy and a slight velocity advantage, while the longer sight radius aids iron sight shooting when no optic is mounted.
Background
The G48 MOS earned the nickname 'the thinking man's carry gun' for shooters who wanted every advantage in a concealed carry pistol. The longer barrel and sight radius over the G43X MOS provided measurably better accuracy, while the optic cut and rail meant no capability was left on the table. With a Shield Arms S15 magazine, Holosun 507K, and Streamlight TLR-7 Sub, the G48 MOS packed the same 15+1 capacity, red dot, and weapon light as a fully equipped G19 in a package nearly a quarter-inch thinner. It became the gold standard for 'maximum capability in minimum size.'
