Notes
The G49 MOS is available exclusively in MOS configuration. Unlike the G43X and G48 which use the narrower Shield RMSc optic cut, the G49 uses the standard Glock MOS adapter plate system supporting full-size red dot footprints including Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and Holosun. The 15-round standard capacity is achieved with a double-stack compact frame, unlike the single-stack G43X/G48 frames. The G49 essentially occupies the same niche as the G19 but with a longer barrel and slide. Overall length is 7.95 inches, height is 5.04 inches, and weight is 22.4 ounces (635g) empty. The G49 was also announced as one of the Gen6/V-series launch models for international markets.
Background
The G49 MOS was the missing piece in Glock's lineup that enthusiasts had been requesting for years. The crossover concept -- long slide on a compact frame -- had proven itself with the G45 and G19X on the full-size platform, and the G49 brought the same philosophy to a more concealable package. When the American Rifleman declared it 'the Glock 9mm perfected,' it captured the sentiment of many shooters who saw the G49 as the logical endpoint of Glock's design evolution: maximum barrel length for velocity and accuracy, compact grip for concealment, 15+1 capacity, and factory optics -- all in one pistol.
