Overview
The Guncrafter HOSS is a heavy-duty custom 1911 semi-automatic pistol built by Guncrafter Industries in Huntsville, Arkansas. Chambered in .45 ACP and built on a full-size government-length forged steel frame and slide, the HOSS (Heavy Operating Shooting System) is engineered for durability under hard use. It features a barrel with 56 percent thicker walls and barrel feet beefed up by 65 percent, an oversized extractor and slide stop each 33 percent larger than standard, a four-post reinforced plunger tube, tool-steel machined hammer, sear and disconnector, an integral magazine well, tritium night sights, and a fully dehorned frame.

The HOSS is a premium hand-fitted 1911 offered with numerous finish options including Melonite, hard chrome, stainless, Duo-Tone, hot salt blue and Cerakote. Each pistol ships with two fitted magazines and a carrying case.
Background
Guncrafter Industries was founded in 2003 by Alex Zimmermann and is best known for developing the proprietary .50 GI cartridge. The HOSS applies the shop's custom-1911 craftsmanship to an over-built .45 ACP platform designed to survive heavy sustained shooting.
