Overview
The Escort DF12 is a gas-operated semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun built on an AR-style modular platform by the Turkish maker Hatsan Arms under its Escort brand. It feeds from detachable 5-round box magazines, chambers 2¾-inch and 3-inch magnum shells, and uses Escort's SMART Valve self-regulating gas piston to reliably cycle loads from light 7/8 oz target rounds up to heavy 2 oz magnum shells. Its alloy upper and synthetic lower receiver, buffer-tube-mounted stock, pistol grip, detachable carry handle with rear sight, and Picatinny rails give it the ergonomics and accessory flexibility of a modern sporting rifle.
