Heym Express
HEYM Waffenfabrik GmbH · Rifle · In Production · 1989
Also known as: Heym Express Magnum, Heym Express by Martini
Overview
The Heym Express is a premium German bolt-action dangerous-game rifle built around an oversized Mauser-type magnum action with controlled-round feed and a long claw extractor. Chambered for big-bore safari cartridges from the .375 H&H Magnum up to the .450 Rigby, it pairs a hammer-forged Krupp-steel barrel with select European walnut, express iron sights and a three-position side-swing safety. Each rifle uses a cartridge-specific drop-box magazine and is hand-built for reliable feeding under heavy recoil on the African plains.

Background
Heym's Express line is regarded as one of the most refined factory big-bore bolt rifles for African dangerous game, competing with the British best-quality makers while using a beefed-up Mauser action whose bolt diameter exceeds standard military Mausers to withstand heavy magnum recoil.
