Overview

The Hi-Point 3895TS is a budget-priced blowback-operated pistol-caliber carbine chambered in .380 ACP. Unveiled at the 2016 SHOT Show as the smallest-caliber member of Hi-Point's TS (Tactical Stock) carbine line, it pairs an inexpensive all-weather polymer skeletonized stock with a 16.5-inch threaded barrel, fully adjustable ghost-ring rear and post front sights, and integrated Picatinny rails. Like all Hi-Point carbines it uses a simple blowback action feeding from a single-stack detachable magazine, making it one of the mildest-recoiling and most affordable centerfire carbines on the American market.

Notes

Standard magazine capacity is 10 rounds and the design is rated for .380 ACP +P loads. The barrel is threaded 1/2x28. The 3895TS is the .380 ACP member of Hi-Point's TS carbine family alongside the 9mm 995TS, .40 S&W 4095TS, and .45 ACP 4595TS. Hi-Point carbines are known for their low cost and unconditional lifetime warranty rather than refinement. MSRP at launch was about USD 297 for the black finish.

Background

The 3895TS made Hi-Point the only major maker of a .380 ACP carbine, a niche choice prized by recoil-sensitive shooters; chambering the small pistol round in a 16.5-inch barrel yields very soft recoil while the gun retains Hi-Point's trademark unconventional look and lifetime warranty.
