Overview
The Holland & Holland Royal Deluxe Double Rifle is a bespoke, hand-built side-by-side double-barrelled rifle representing the top grade of the company's 'Royal' model. Built around a bolstered, back-action, hand-detachable sidelock ejector action with double triggers, its individually regulated chopper-lump barrels are hand-fitted so both fire to a single point of aim at a client-specified distance. Chambered here in the classic .375 H&H Magnum big-game cartridge, it is finished with the finest London walnut and full hand engraving to each customer's specification.

Each 'Royal' Double Rifle is bespoke and can be ordered in virtually any rimless, flanged or belted rifle calibre; the sidelock action provides two wholly independent firing mechanisms for reliability on dangerous game. Barrels are typically regulated between 61 and 66 cm (24-26 in). Weights and dimensions vary by calibre and customer specification.
Background
Holland & Holland's 'Royal' grade, introduced in the late 19th century, became the archetype of the London 'best' double rifle carried by professional hunters and safari clients across Africa and India through the golden age of big-game hunting.
