The IOF .22 Revolver is a .22 Long Rifle rimfire revolver produced by the Indian Ordnance Factory (Ordnance Factory Board) from 2002. It has an eight-round cylinder and a trigger offering both single-action and double-action operation. Marketed as an affordable civilian sporting and target-shooting sidearm, it complements the factory's larger .32 S&W Long service-style revolver in the non-prohibited-bore product line available to licensed Indian civilians.

Notes
The standard model has a swing-out cylinder and an approximately 2.5-inch (63.5 mm) barrel. A lighter aluminium-alloy variant, the Nidar, uses a shorter 1.5-inch barrel. Weight and overall-length figures are not consistently published by the manufacturer and are left null. Sold domestically to licensed civilian owners as a low-cost plinking and target revolver.
Background
Sold through Indian Ordnance Factory outlets to licensed civilians, the .22 revolver became one of the cheapest legally available handguns in India, prized by first-time owners and target shooters where imported firearms are heavily restricted.
