Overview
The JP Enterprises JP-5 is a high-end 9x19mm roller-delayed blowback pistol-caliber carbine that marries the ergonomics of the AR-15 with the soft-shooting roller-delayed operating system popularized by the H&K MP5. Released in 2021 after roughly two years of development, it uses MP5-pattern locking pieces with selectable roller-shoulder angles (80/90/100/110 degrees) to tune the action, feeds from Glock-pattern magazines, and accepts standard AR-15 fire-control groups, buffer tubes, stocks, and grips. Built on a billet-aluminum G940 receiver set with a JP Supermatch barrel (typically 14.5 inches pinned and welded to 16) and a JP Silent Captured Spring, the JP-5 is marketed to the high-end competition PCC market and is praised by reviewers for its exceptionally flat, soft recoil impulse.
