Kel-Tec CMR-30

Kel-Tec CNC Industries · Carbine · In Production · 2016

Also known as: CMR30

Overview

The Kel-Tec CMR-30 is a lightweight semi-automatic carbine chambered in .22 WMR, introduced in 2016 as the rifle counterpart to the PMR-30 pistol. It feeds from the same flush-fit 30-round magazines, weighs under 4 pounds, and pairs a 16-inch threaded nitrided barrel with a rigid aluminum upper, a full-length Picatinny rail, and a five-position collapsible stock. Its hybrid aluminum-and-steel blowback action keeps the gun extremely soft-shooting and controllable.

Notes

Uses the same 30-round magazines as the Kel-Tec PMR-30 pistol. The barrel is threaded 1/2x28 to accept muzzle devices and suppressors, and the .22 WMR cartridge runs subsonic-to-supersonic depending on load.

Background

Marketed as the carbine sibling of the high-capacity PMR-30 pistol, the CMR-30 puts 30 rounds of .22 Magnum into a package light enough to forget it is slung, making it a cult favorite for trappers, backpackers, and small-game hunters who want firepower without weight.
