Overview
The Kel-Tec KP50 is a large-format, blowback-operated, closed-bolt semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm, announced at ENFORCE TAC 2026 as the successor to the P50. It feeds from a bottom-insert, drop-free 50-round magazine that replaces the P50's top-hinged loading process, and uses a polymer grip/trigger group assembly with a B5 Systems vertical pistol grip, a T-shaped magazine release under the trigger guard, and an ambidextrous safety. Its 9.6-inch barrel and roughly 18.6-inch overall length place it squarely in the personal-defense-weapon-style large pistol class.

Background
Kel-Tec's biggest gripe with the original P50 was its awkward top-loading magazine; the KP50 fixes it with a drop-free, bottom-insert 50-round mag, finally making the 50-shot 5.7 reload like a normal gun.
