Overview

The Kel-Tec RFB is a gas-operated semi-automatic bullpup battle rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. Designed by George Kellgren, its name stands for Rifle, Forward-ejection, Bullpup. The RFB uses a patented forward-ejection system in which spent cases are pushed forward through a tube above the barrel and drop out a chute ahead of the trigger group, making the rifle fully ambidextrous. It feeds from metric FN FAL-pattern magazines and combines the compact length of a bullpup with the firepower of a full-size 7.62 NATO rifle.

Notes

Forward ejection allows truly ambidextrous operation with no risk of brass striking a left-handed shooter. The RFB accepts standard metric-pattern FN FAL magazines.

Background

The RFB was first shown around 2007 and entered production in 2008 as the first fully ambidextrous 7.62 NATO bullpup, solving the long-standing problem of bullpup ejection for left-handed shooters with its over-barrel forward-ejection tube.
