Also known as: Micro 9 ESV, Micro 9 Mini Comp, Kimber Micro 9 ESV Two-Tone (MC)(TP)
Overview
The Kimber Micro 9 ESV (MC)(TP) is a premium sub-compact 1911-style semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger, featuring Kimber's Mini Comp three-port compensator threaded onto the barrel. The ESV (Enhanced Slide Version) designation indicates a slide with lightening cuts and dual cocking serrations for reduced weight and improved handling. The (MC) denotes the Mini Compensator and (TP) indicates the threaded barrel to which it attaches. The compensator is machined from the same aluminum alloy as the frame, secured by two machine screws that provide a clamping function, and delivers a claimed 23% reduction in muzzle rise while adding only one inch to the overall length compared to a standard Micro 9. The pistol features an aluminum frame with a stainless steel slide and barrel, TruGlo Tritium Pro night sights with a U-notch rear and square-post front with orange tritium lamp, Hogue wraparound rubber grips with finger reliefs, and a single-action trigger. Weighing 19.2 ounces with an empty magazine, it maintains a compact profile suitable for concealed carry while offering enhanced recoil management through its compensator system.

Notes
The Micro 9 ESV (MC)(TP) uses a quasi-80 series firing pin block safety system but eliminates the grip safety found on full-size 1911s to facilitate a faster draw from concealment. The compensator adds approximately one inch to overall length (7.09 inches vs 6.1 inches for the standard Micro 9). The pistol uses a 16-pound recoil spring. In testing by the American Rifleman, it completed a 300-round reliability test with no feeding, firing, or ejection issues, though it was noted as somewhat ammunition-sensitive regarding accuracy. The Two-Tone variant (model 3300218) features a contrasting bead-blasted stainless slide with black frame and Rose Copper TiCN-coated barrel.
Background
The Micro 9 ESV (MC)(TP) represents Kimber's answer to the growing demand for more shootable sub-compact pistols. By threading a three-port compensator onto their proven Micro 9 platform, Kimber created one of the softest-recoiling 9mm pistols in the sub-compact category. The American Rifleman called it one of the softest-recoiling 9mm Luger pistols in its size category, validating the compensator's effectiveness beyond marketing claims.
