Overview
The Krag-Jørgensen M1904 is a Norwegian bolt-action carbine chambered in 6.5x55mm, built on the distinctive Krag-Jørgensen action with its side-mounted horizontal box magazine loaded with loose rounds. Adopted for the engineer corps, the M1904 differed from Norway's earlier cavalry and artillery carbines by being stocked all the way to the muzzle, giving it a fuller handguard. Roughly 2,750 were manufactured at Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk between 1906 and 1908.

Notes
The M1904 and the later M1907 are near-identical engineer/artillery carbines, differing mainly in sling attachment. Both are full-stocked versions of the shorter Norwegian Krag carbines.
Background
Unlike Norway's earlier cavalry and artillery Krag carbines, the M1904 engineer's carbine was stocked all the way to the muzzle, a detail it shares only with the near-identical M1907, so the two are most easily told apart by how their slings attach.
