Overview

The Krieghoff K-80 Pro Sporter is a German 12-gauge over/under sporting clays shotgun, a configuration of the K-80 competition line built around Krieghoff's removable, serviceable trigger group. Its defining feature is a floating rib mounted higher above the barrels than a conventional sporting or skeet rib, with an adjustment wheel that lets the shooter select 50/50, 60/40, or 70/30 point-of-impact settings to suit different clay disciplines. It ships with 30 in or 32 in barrels, 3 in chrome-plated chambers, and a set of extended titanium screw-in chokes.

Notes

Available in 12, 20, and 28 gauge and .410 bore via interchangeable barrel sets; the 12-gauge is the primary chambering. Standard stock is #3 Pro-Sporting select Turkish walnut with a satin epoxy finish; receiver finishes include nickel-plated (standard), blued, nitrided, and color case-hardened. The raised floating rib tapers 12 mm to 8 mm. Weight and overall length are not published by the manufacturer.

Background

The Pro Sporter's rib sits noticeably higher than a normal sporting rib, letting the shooter dial the point of impact between flat-shooting 50/50 and high 70/30 with a small wheel, so a single gun can be tuned for low-house skeet targets in the morning and rising sporting-clays birds in the afternoon.
