The KRISS Vector's Super V recoil mitigation system represents a significant departure from traditional submachine gun designs, theoretically reducing felt recoil by up to 60% and muzzle climb by up to 95% compared to conventional designs. The weapon's futuristic appearance and prominent use in video games have made it highly recognizable despite limited military adoption. The select-fire SMG variant is restricted to military and law enforcement sales, while civilian semi-automatic versions are sold as the CRB (carbine with 16" barrel), SBR (short-barrel rifle), and SDP (pistol) variants. The Gen II introduced a redesigned pistol grip and trigger with reduced safety lever swing angle from 120° to 45°. Gen III was released in 2024 with further improvements to the select-fire platform.
