Overview
The Laugo Alien is a high-end Czech semi-automatic competition pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. Designed by Jan Lucansky and launched at IWA 2019, it combines several radical features: a fixed barrel with a gas-delayed blowback operating system, a non-reciprocating top rail that keeps the optic and iron sights stationary during firing, and an exceptionally low bore axis that dramatically reduces muzzle rise. These traits make it a specialized tool for practical shooting sports such as IPSC, USPSA and IDPA.

Notes
The gas piston and cylinder sit above the barrel; the removable upper frame remains stationary during the firing cycle and carries the sighting systems. The pistol won Recoil Magazine's top award at SHOT Show 2020.
Background
The Alien's non-reciprocating top rail means the mounted red dot never moves during firing, so competitors keep a rock-steady sight picture through rapid strings; the design was radical enough to win Recoil Magazine's top honor at SHOT Show 2020, its first year in production.
