Overview

The Llama Scorpio is a compact .38 Special double-action revolver produced by Industria Militar de Colombia (Indumil) under the Llama brand. Built on a steel frame with a 2-inch (snub-nose) barrel and a six-round swing-out cylinder, it fires in both single and double action and is marketed as a lightweight, short-range personal-defense sidearm. It ships with fixed sights and a choice of wooden or polymer grips in blued or chrome finishes.

Country of origin: Colombia

Notes

Sold on the Colombian civilian market by Indumil for personal defense; the Llama brand name was retained by Indumil for its revolver line after the original Spanish Llama-Gabilondo firm ceased operations. A .32 Largo chambering is also offered.

Background

Though it carries the storied Spanish 'Llama' name, the Scorpio is actually built in Colombia by the state-owned arms maker Indumil, which kept the brand alive for its own revolvers long after the original Llama-Gabilondo works in the Basque Country shut down in 2005.
