Overview

The Lobaev Arms DXL-4 Sevastopol is a Russian long-range precision sniper rifle chambered in .408 CheyTac and .375 CheyTac, designed for ultra-long-range engagements at distances up to 2,800 meters. Built on a modular aluminum alloy chassis that combines the advantages of classic rifle design with modern manufacturing precision, the Sevastopol achieves a claimed accuracy of 0.45 MOA. The rifle features a folding stock that reduces its transport length to 1,200mm, making it more practical for field deployment. Named after the historic Crimean port city, the DXL-4 has reportedly seen service during the Russo-Ukrainian conflict with Russian special operations forces.

Notes

The DXL-4 Sevastopol sits between the DXL-3 Retribution (.338 Lapua) and the DXL-5 Havoc in Lobaev Arms' product lineup, optimized for the .408/.375 CheyTac cartridges that offer superior ballistic performance at extreme ranges compared to .338 Lapua Magnum. The DXL-4M is the updated variant with improved ergonomics and mounting options. Effective range differs by caliber: 2,800m with .375 CheyTac and 2,300m with .408 CheyTac, as the lighter, faster .375 bullet retains velocity better at extreme distances despite lower initial energy.

Background

The Sevastopol is named after the strategically vital Crimean port city that has been the site of multiple famous sieges throughout history. Lobaev Arms' entire product line of long-range rifles has been reported as actively deployed during the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, with the company's founder personally confirming their use in combat operations.
