Overview
The Madsen Maskinpistol m/41 was a Danish selective-fire submachine gun, a licensed copy of the Finnish Suomi KP/31 produced by Dansk Industri Syndikat (Madsen). Chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and operating on a simple open-bolt blowback action, it fed from a 20-round detachable box magazine and was distinguished from the Finnish original by protective metal 'ears' flanking the front sight post. Only around 1,400 were built before the German occupation authorities halted production in August 1943.

Background
The Danish m/41 was a home-built copy of Finland's famed Suomi KP/31, but its story was cut short: Denmark managed to complete only about 1,400 before the occupying Germans shut the Madsen line down in 1943.
