Also known as: Magnum Lite, MagnumLite, MLR22AT
Overview
The Magnum Research MLR (Magnum Lite Rifle) is a lightweight semi-automatic rimfire rifle distinguished by its proprietary carbon-fiber (graphite) barrel wrapped around a match-grade steel liner. Chambered primarily in .22 Long Rifle - with variants offered in .22 WMR and .17 HMR - the MLR uses a blowback action and is engineered for compatibility with the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 platform, accepting its rotary magazines and many aftermarket parts. The carbon-fiber barrel sheds significant weight while resisting the heat-induced point-of-impact shift that can plague thin steel barrels, helping the rifle stay accurate over strings of fire. Fitted with ambidextrous thumbhole stocks (or optional tactical and laminate furniture), the Magnum Lite line targets shooters who want a featherweight, accurate plinking and small-game rifle. The MLR has been produced in numerous configurations, including the tensioned-barrel Ultra and Tactical models.
