Overview
The SilencerCo Maxim 9 is an American integrally suppressed semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. Introduced in 2017, it was the first commercially produced handgun designed from the ground up with a built-in suppressor compact enough to be holstered while remaining safe to fire without hearing protection. It uses a fixed barrel with a reciprocating rear slide section riding on dual guide-rod recoil springs and a striker-fired, delayed-blowback action, and feeds from standard Glock 17 magazines. The aluminum suppressor shell houses modular stainless-steel baffles that can be configured in long or short setups to balance sound suppression against overall length.

Notes
The integral suppressor can be run in a long configuration (~10.75 in) or a shorter configuration (~9.5 in) by removing baffle sections; barrel length stays fixed at roughly 4.38 in regardless. The frame is drilled and tapped to accept a red-dot optic.
Background
Named after Hiram Maxim, the inventor credited with the first commercially successful firearm suppressor, the Maxim 9 revived the concept of an integrally suppressed sidearm for the modern civilian and law-enforcement market.
