Overview

The McMillan CS5 (Concealable Subsonic/Supersonic Suppressed Sniper System) is a compact bolt-action sniper rifle designed for covert operations requiring a highly portable precision platform. Built on McMillan's proprietary T2K action with an Anschutz match trigger, the CS5 features a stainless steel match-grade barrel with 1:11-inch twist rate optimized for both subsonic and supersonic .308 Winchester loads. The rifle's defining characteristic is its ability to be broken down to just 597mm (23.5 inches) with the buttstock and suppressor detached, fitting easily into a backpack or inconspicuous carrier. The standard variant features an 18.5-inch barrel while the Stubby variant uses a 12.5-inch barrel with an integral quick-detach suppressor, maintaining a compact overall package without sacrificing suppressed capability.

Notes

The CS5 name stands for Concealable Subsonic/Supersonic Suppressed Sniper System. The rifle was designed specifically for operations requiring a precision rifle that can be transported covertly. With stock and suppressor removed, the CS5 is only 23.5 inches long.

Background

The CS5 was developed to answer the need for a precision rifle that could be carried in a standard backpack for covert insertion operations. When fully broken down, it is one of the most compact precision rifle systems in the world at just 23.5 inches, yet reassembles to deliver sub-MOA accuracy.
