McMillan TAC-416

Also known as: TAC-416, McMillan TAC®-416
Overview
The McMillan TAC-416 is a bolt-action, single-shot anti-materiel and long-range sniper rifle chambered for the proprietary .416 Barrett cartridge. Built on the proven platform of the company's TAC-50, it substitutes a single-shot action and a fluted, hand-lapped Lilja match-grade barrel to exploit the flatter trajectory and superior long-range accuracy of the .416 Barrett over the .50 BMG at ranges beyond 1,000 yards. It ships on the TAC-50 A1-style fiberglass take-down stock with an adjustable cheekpiece, adjustable buttplate, integral bipod and a 30 MOA Picatinny optics rail.

The .416 Barrett cartridge was developed in part to sidestep California's .50 BMG ban while delivering comparable or superior long-range terminal performance; the TAC-416 gave McMillan's proven TAC-50 platform a home for the new round.
