Overview
The Mimic Speed 9 (Speed9) is a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine introduced at SHOT Show 2026, built around a proprietary 60-round tandem magazine. The blowback-operated carbine keeps AR-15-style ergonomics and accepts standard AR triggers, safeties, charging handles, buffer systems, barrels, and handguards, while the upper/lower receivers and feeding system are proprietary. Notes
The defining feature is a stamped-steel 60-round magazine that holds two opposing 30-round stacks separated by a center divider, sized to standard AR-15 magazine dimensions. When the first stack runs dry, the shooter pulls the magazine, flips/rotates it, and reinserts it to feed the second 30-round stack. A 'RAD' (rear ammunition depressor) in the upper depresses the rear ammunition stack to allow cycling and prevent bolt obstruction. Standard model MSRP ~$1,799; Pro model ~$2,499. Barrel length listed reflects the 16" variant.
Background
The Speed 9's party trick is its flip magazine: 60 rounds of 9mm packed into the footprint of a standard AR mag by stacking two 30-round columns back-to-back, so a quick flip-and-reinsert doubles your on-board ammo without a fresh magazine.
