Overview
The Mossberg 990 Aftershock is a compact, non-NFA 'firearm'-class 12-gauge gas-operated semi-automatic built on the 990 platform with a bird's-head AfterShock grip in place of a shoulder stock. Its 14.75-inch barrel and ~26.5-inch overall length keep it under federal shotgun classification while the self-loading gas system, contained within the forend, cycles 2.75-inch shells from a 5-round tubular magazine. It ships optic-ready with a Shield RMSc footprint, fiber-optic front sight, heat shield, M-LOK slots and QD sling ports.

Background
