Overview
The New Haven 600 is a series of pump-action shotguns produced by O.F. Mossberg & Sons and sold under the New Haven store brand through department-store and hardware retailers such as Montgomery Ward and Western Auto. Mechanically identical to the Mossberg 500 apart from an anti-rattle magazine tube and an undrilled receiver top, it shared the same aluminum-alloy receiver, twin action bars, dual extractors, and tang-mounted safety. The 600 line spanned 12-, 16-, 20-, and .410-gauge chamberings with barrels from 26 to 30 inches, fixed or interchangeable chokes, and a typical 5+1 capacity.
