Also known as: MR-448, Skif, MP-448 Skif
Overview
The MP-448 Skyph (also transliterated Skif) is a Russian double-action/single-action semi-automatic pistol developed by engineer Dmitry Bogdanov at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant around the turn of the 2000s. Chambered primarily for the 9x18mm Makarov cartridge, it uses a simple blowback action and a molded high-strength polymer frame reinforced with steel inserts, with a half-hidden hammer and an angular, ergonomic profile. It remained an experimental design and never entered mass production.

Background
The Skyph was one of a family of polymer-framed experimental Izhmekh pistols designed by Dmitry Bogdanov in the late 1990s and 2000s, first modeled entirely on computer before a press-mold blank was created - a modern development approach for the plant at the time.
