Overview

The MTs-255 is a Russian five-shot revolver shotgun developed in the early 2000s by the TsKIB SOO design bureau at the Tula Arms Plant. Built on a steel frame with a side-swinging five-chamber cylinder, it functions like an oversized double-action revolver, allowing the shooter to mix shell types and fire them in any order. It is offered in 12, 20 and .410 gauges as a hunting, sporting and law-enforcement weapon, with both wood-stocked sporting versions and polymer-stocked tactical versions.

Notes

The cylinder chambers are numbered externally so the shooter can deliberately select different loads. Tactical versions feature a polymer pistol grip and a side-folding stock.

Background

Essentially a giant double-action revolver firing shotgun shells, the MTs-255 lets a shooter load five different shell types and pick which one fires next by spinning to a numbered chamber, a feature rarely seen on any other shotgun.
