Overview
The MTs 6-12 is a Soviet over-and-under (stacked barrel) break-action smoothbore shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, developed by the TsKIB SOO design bureau in Tula and introduced in 1948. This hunting-configuration model uses 750 mm barrels with a hammerless action, double triggers and an automatic ejector, all mounted in a hand-finished walnut stock. Built to a high standard of fit and finish, MTs 6 series guns were used by Soviet teams in international clay-target shooting competitions.

Notes
The MTs 6 family was offered in several gauges (12, 16 and 20) and in sporting as well as hunting configurations; the -12 suffix denotes the 12-gauge model. Production was later superseded by the MTs 106.
Background
TsKIB SOO's MTs 6 shotguns were prized as competition and presentation guns in the USSR, hand-fitted by master gunsmiths and often lavishly engraved, and they equipped Soviet shooters at Olympic-level clay-target events.
