Overview
The Musgrave Mod 2000 is a South African bolt-action sporting rifle produced by Musgrave of Bloemfontein, one of the range of hunting rifles the firm built around its Mauser-pattern controlled-feed action. Like its sister models it uses a machined steel bolt action with a claw extractor, an integral internal box magazine and a walnut sporter stock, and was offered in popular medium-bore hunting chamberings such as .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield and 7x57mm Mauser. The receiver is drilled and tapped for telescopic-sight mounts in keeping with its role as a scoped big-game and plains-game rifle.
