Overview
The Norinco NP-24 is a Chinese single-action, gas-delayed-blowback semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. Developed in 1995 as a commercial export derivative of the M-77B, it removes the base pistol's trigger-guard (Chylewsky) cocking device and replaces the 9-round single-stack magazine with a double-stacked 15-round magazine for higher capacity. Like the M-77B it uses a fixed barrel with a gas-delayed blowback action similar in concept to the H&K P7, with a forged carbon-steel frame and slide and polymer grip panels. Also known as the M-77B2, it is manufactured by Norinco (China North Industries Corporation).

Notes
Part of the Type 77 / M-77B export lineage (Type 77, M-77, M-77B, NP-20, NP-24, NP-24A). The NP-24 shares the M-77B's dimensions (approx. 190mm overall, 120-127mm barrel) but adds a 15-round double-stack magazine and a solid trigger guard. The NP-24A (1998) is a lighter aluminium-alloy variant, roughly 85g lighter than the NP-24. Weight and dimensions are approximate, based on the M-77B family.
Background
The Type 77 lineage that spawned the NP-24 is best known for its 'Chylewsky' one-hand cocking feature, in which the front of the trigger guard could be pulled rearward with the index finger to rack the slide.
