Overview
The Norinco Type 97 is a Chinese 12-gauge pump-action shotgun manufactured by Hawk Industries, a division of China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO). Patterned closely on the proven American Remington Model 870, it feeds from a 5-round internal tubular magazine and is chambered to handle both standard and 3-inch (76 mm) magnum shells. Adopted for military, paramilitary, and law enforcement service as well as exported to the civilian market, it is built around a steel receiver with iron sights and serves in anti-riot, security, and general-purpose roles.
