Overview
The ORSIS T-5000 is a modern Russian precision bolt-action sniper rifle designed and manufactured by ORSIS, a private Russian firearms company. Representing a departure from traditional Soviet/Russian sniper rifle design philosophy, the T-5000 was built from the ground up using Western-style precision rifle engineering principles including a free-floating barrel, aluminum chassis system, and match-grade components. Available in .338 Lapua Magnum and .308 Winchester, the rifle is capable of sub-0.5 MOA accuracy and has been adopted by Russian military and security services as a long-range precision sniping platform.

ORSIS (Оружейные Системы) was founded in 2011 as Russia's first private precision rifle manufacturer, breaking the Soviet-era state monopoly on military firearms production. The T-5000 uses CNC-machined components throughout and was designed with input from competitive shooters. The rifle gained international attention when it was displayed at various defense exhibitions and adopted by Russian special operations forces. The T-5000M modernized variant features improved ergonomics and an updated folding stock mechanism. The rifle uses a three-lug bolt with 60-degree throw for rapid cycling.
Background
The ORSIS T-5000 broke the Russian state's centuries-old monopoly on military sniper rifle production. When it debuted, Russian snipers finally had a domestically produced precision rifle that could compete with Western designs like the Accuracy International and Sako TRG series, ending Russia's reliance on Cold War-era platforms for long-range precision work.
