Overview
The OTs-128 is a Russian prototype gas-operated, belt-fed light machine gun in 7.62x51mm NATO developed by TsKIB SOO under the 'Alatau' project. It feeds the belt from the bottom of the receiver without a conventional feed tray or top cover, uses a striker-fired rotating bolt and full-automatic fire only, and features an aluminium receiver, full-length Picatinny rail and a folding stock that rotates into a carry handle.

Pre-production prototype shown publicly around 2018 with roughly 20,000 rounds fired in testing. Uses proprietary belt links and an unconventional bottom-feed layout.
Background
The OTs-128 abandons the universal top-cover feed tray that has defined belt-fed machine guns since the Maxim, pulling its ammunition belt up through the bottom of the receiver so the folding stock can flip over and double as a carry handle.
