Parker Brothers DHE
Parker Brothers · Shotgun · Discontinued · 1899
Also known as: Parker DHE, Parker DH Ejector, Parker D Grade Hammerless Ejector
Overview
The Parker Brothers DHE is a side-by-side, break-action double-barreled shotgun representing Parker's D (Grade 3) quality tier with automatic ejectors. The 'D' grade delivered fancy Circassian walnut, fine flowing scroll and hunting-dog engraving covering the boxlock receiver, while the 'H' marks the hammerless action and the 'E' its automatic ejectors. Chambered most commonly in 12 gauge with 26- to 30-inch barrels, double triggers and a tang safety, the DHE was a mid-to-upper tier field and upland gun from America's most celebrated double-gun maker.

Notes
Parker Brothers doubles were graded by quality and finish (Trojan, VH, GH, DH/DHE, CH, BH, AH, A-1 Special); the D grade sits in the upper-middle range. The 'E' suffix denotes automatic ejectors added to the DH grade. Barrels were offered in Damascus, then Titanic/Acme fluid steel. Production passed to Remington in 1934, which continued Parker guns until about 1942.
Background
Parker Brothers was so revered that the firm earned the nickname 'Old Reliable', and a well-figured DHE with its dog-and-scroll engraving and automatic ejectors remains among the most sought-after of collectable American 'Parker guns'.
