Overview
The Parker SB Single Barrel Trap is a break-action single-shot 12-gauge shotgun built expressly for the sport of trap shooting. Introduced by Parker Brothers in 1917, it paired a heavy ventilated-rib barrel with an automatic ejector, single trigger and a hand-fitted, finely figured walnut stock. The SB was one of the higher grades in Parker's five-tier single-barrel trap line, above the common SC and below the deluxe SA; only about 96 SB-grade guns were made, making it among the rarest and most sought-after American trap guns by collectors.

Notes
Parker single-barrel trap guns were cataloged only in grades SC through SAA; the SB grade sat above the entry SC. Guns were typically supplied with 30", 32" or 34" barrels and could be ordered to a customer's exact stock dimensions.
Background
Parker Brothers of Meriden, Connecticut, entered gunmaking in 1866 and became the benchmark for fine American shotguns. The Single Barrel Trap, launched in 1917, was Parker's answer to the growing popularity of registered trap competition, and its high grades like the SB are prized today as some of the finest single-barrel target guns ever built in the United States.
