Overview
The Pedersoli 1857 Wurttembergischen is a modern black-powder muzzle-loading rifle made by Davide Pedersoli, faithfully reproducing the Wurttemberg Vereinsgewehr Model 1857 that was manufactured at the Gewehrfabrik in Oberndorf from 1857 to 1866. It is a single-shot percussion-cap arm in .547 caliber (13.9 mm), built on a 1000 mm rifled steel barrel with five-groove right-hand rifling, an oil-finished walnut stock with steel furniture, two sling swivels, and a rear sight on a squared high base adjustable for windage and elevation. It is popular with muzzleloading target shooters and historical reenactors of the mid-19th-century German states.

Background
Pedersoli's reproduction revives the Wurttemberg 'Vereinsgewehr' of 1857 - a rifle built at the Oberndorf armory that would later become the Mauser factory, so this percussion muzzleloader traces the same Neckar-valley workshop that produced the world's most famous bolt-action rifles.
