Overview

The Pedersoli Derringer Liegi is a single-shot, muzzle-loading percussion pocket pistol reproducing the compact box-lock derringers made in Liege, Belgium in the mid-19th century. Built by Davide Pedersoli in Italy, it uses a caplock (percussion cap) box-lock mechanism with a folding trigger and a short rifled barrel. The standard model is chambered in .44 caliber with a 60 mm barrel, and a .36 caliber version with a longer barrel is also offered.

Notes

A caplock box-lock design derived from the concealable Belgian Liege deringers; the barrel is rifled so a patched round ball engages the rifling. Sold as a black-powder muzzleloader replica.

Background

The tiny Liege deringers this pistol copies were the pocket pistols of choice for 19th-century gamblers and travelers who wanted a concealable single shot; Pedersoli's caplock reproduction keeps the folding trigger and hidden box-lock hammer of the originals.
