Also known as: Penn Arms L1-37, L137-1, Penn Arms Single Launcher
Overview
The Penn Arms SL-1 is a single-shot, break-action 37mm less-lethal launcher used chiefly by law enforcement, corrections, and military units for riot control and crowd management. Built on a break-open frame with a smoothbore barrel, it fires 37mm munitions such as chemical-agent (CS/CN) rounds, smoke, foam and rubber baton projectiles, and flare and signaling cartridges. Penn Arms, a division of Combined Systems, Inc., has produced 37mm and 40mm less-lethal launchers for over two decades, and the single-launcher SL-1 (marketed in the L1-37 / L137 series) is offered with fixed or collapsible stocks and iron sights.

Background
Penn Arms less-lethal launchers became a common sight during riot-control and crowd-management operations, with the break-action single launcher favored for its simplicity and light weight when deploying chemical-agent and impact munitions.
