Overview

The Perazzi SHO is an Italian over/under competition shotgun and the model that launched Perazzi Armi as a competition gunmaker. Chambered in 12 gauge and built on a break-action boxlock with a selective single trigger, it was configured for Olympic Trap. Ennio Mattarelli won the Olympic Trap gold medal at the 1964 Tokyo Games shooting a Perazzi SHO with a world-record score of 198/200, establishing the firm's reputation before the later MX8 superseded it.

Notes

The SHO predates Perazzi's signature detachable drop-out trigger group, which was introduced with the MX8 developed for the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. As a semi-bespoke competition gun of the early 1960s, most dimensional specifications were made to measure and are not formally published; barrel length and weight here reflect typical Olympic Trap configuration of the period.

Background

The Perazzi SHO carried Ennio Mattarelli to Olympic Trap gold at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics with a world-record 198/200 - the win that put Daniele Perazzi's fledgling workshop on the international map and set the template for the marque's clay-target dominance.
