Background
The Great Western II line pays homage to the Colt Single Action Army - 'The Gun That Won the West.' Pietta's extensive catalog of named models reads like a Who's Who of Western history: the Texas Ranger, U.S. Marshal, General Patton, Rio Bravo, and Red River models each evoke a specific era or figure. The Alchimista series represents the pinnacle of the line, with hand-fitted actions and premium finishes. The transfer bar safety is a modern addition that allows safe carry with all six chambers loaded - something the original 1873 Colt could not safely do.
