Overview
The Pindad SPR-3 (Senapan Penembak Runduk-3) is a bolt-action sniper rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, designed and manufactured by PT Pindad, Indonesia's state-owned defense manufacturer. Introduced in 2010 as a replacement for the earlier SPR-1, the SPR-3 represents Indonesia's continuing effort to develop indigenous precision rifle capability. The rifle features a free-floating barrel with a large multi-slotted muzzle brake for recoil reduction, a skeleton stock with an adjustable monopod for stability, and a detachable 5-round box magazine. The aluminum chassis system with polymer furniture provides a rigid platform while keeping weight manageable at approximately 6.9 kg. The SPR-3 is designed for military long-range target engagement with a maximum effective range of 900 meters. It accepts standard Picatinny rail-mounted optics and is typically deployed with a variable-power telescopic sight.
