Overview
The POF Azb DMR MK1 is a Pakistani semi-automatic designated marksman rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, developed by Pakistan Ordnance Factories. A modernized derivative of the license-built Heckler & Koch G3, it retains the roller-locked delayed-blowback action and shares parts with POF-made G3 rifles, while adding a 508 mm match barrel with a 1:305 mm twist and 11-degree target crown, a full-length optics and accessory rail, and a fixed walnut or polymer buttstock. It can accurately engage targets out to 600 m with service ball ammunition and 800 m with match ammunition.

Named after Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the 2014 Pakistani military counter-terrorism campaign in North Waziristan. First shown publicly at the IDEAS 2014 defence exhibition. Feeds from 5-, 10-, or 20-round detachable box magazines. Manufacturer states rifle weight with a loaded 20-round magazine, telescope, mounts, and bipod is under 6.8 kg.
Background
The rifle is named after Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Pakistan's 2014 offensive against militants in North Waziristan, and was engineered so that nearly every part interchanges with the G3 rifles Pakistani troops already carried, simplifying manufacture, maintenance, and training.
