Also known as: POF-USA P-15, P-15 Base

Overview

The POF P-15 Base is a direct gas impingement, magazine-fed, semi-automatic assault rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and built on the AR-15 platform by Patriot Ordnance Factory. Introduced in 2025 as POF-USA's value-priced entry into the AR-15 market, it pairs a forged-aluminum receiver set with the company's proprietary E2 extraction chamber, a nickel-boron-finished bolt carrier group, a patented roller cam pin, an anti-tilt buffer tube, a 16.5-inch black-nitride barrel with 5R 1:8 rifling, and a 15-inch M-LOK free-float handguard.

Notes

POF-USA is best known for its short-stroke gas-piston P415 and P416 rifles; the P-15 Base instead uses a conventional mid-length direct-impingement gas system to reach a lower price point ($999 MSRP) while retaining POF signature features such as the E2 chamber and roller cam pin.

Background

Patriot Ordnance Factory was founded in 2002 by Frank DeSomma in Phoenix, Arizona, and made its name pioneering gas-piston conversions of the AR-15. The P-15 Base, unveiled at SHOT Show 2025, marked the company's deliberate move into the budget direct-impingement market without abandoning its proprietary reliability features.
