Overview
The POF SMG-PK is a compact 9x19mm submachine gun produced by Pakistan Ordnance Factories, based on the Heckler & Koch roller-delayed blowback system. Firing from a closed bolt, it is intended for close-quarter battle and is issued to military, signal and military-police personnel as well as civil law-enforcement agencies. The base SMG-PK uses an end-cap configuration with a standard pistol grip, while the SMG-PK1 variant adds a retractable buttstock for improved stability. It feeds from 30-round box magazines and uses an adjustable rotary diopter rear sight graduated for 25 m and 100 m.

Notes
POF lists the SMG-PK separately from its license-built MP5 (POF MP5 / POF-5), though both share the roller-delayed operating principle. The base SMG-PK weighs about 2.0 kg and measures 345 mm with the end cap; the SMG-PK1 with retractable stock extends to roughly 545 mm and weighs about 2.75 kg. A semi-automatic-only pistol export variant is sold abroad.
Background
Pakistan Ordnance Factories developed the SMG-PK to give Pakistan a domestically produced close-quarters weapon using the proven roller-delayed blowback action of the H&K MP5 family, reducing reliance on imported submachine guns for its armed forces and police.
