Overview
The PPS-43C is the modern, semi-automatic descendant of Alexei Sudayev's WWII Soviet PPS-43 submachine gun. Built by Pioneer Arms of Radom, Poland, it is a closed-bolt, blowback firearm chambered in 7.62x25mm Tokarev that retains the original's stamped-steel construction, side-folding stock and 35-round curved magazine. In the United States it is classified as a pistol due to its compact overall length.

Notes
The 615 mm overall length quoted by importers is the folded/pistol length used for US classification; the original full-auto PPS-43 SMG was open-bolt and measured roughly 820 mm with stock extended. A 9x19mm version of the modern C is also offered. Imported to the US by Inter Ordnance and Century Arms.
Background
The original PPS-43 was prized as one of the cheapest, fastest submachine guns to mass-produce, with significant numbers stamped out inside besieged Leningrad; the modern PPS-43C revives that stamped-steel design as a semi-automatic collector's firearm.
